Located in the sort after location of Newstead, this family home offers a sanctuary to retreat, to relax, rejuvenate and grow within. This four-bed room home allows for a large three car garage, gym, sauna, lap pool, guest suite and office.
Our involvement in this project commenced when the client selected us to work alongside with during the DA stage of the design. From there we provided advice during the final documentation of the job through open meetings with their Architect.
Our first challenge onsite was the demolition of a large 2 story weather board house to allow for the extensive site works to begin on the new development. The development utilises every part of the 930m2 block with up to 3m cut and fills being required to achieve the design outcome. Rising to a finished height of over 8m within 1.5m of the boundary in some areas a clear construction sequence had to be planned and implemented. The finishing detail and materials used both inside and out where of the utmost importance to the client. The introduction of the Krause brick and black band sawn faced Abodo cladding achieve the high end finish the client was seeking. Inside the joinery follows a consistent theme with American oak utilised throughout the build. The outdoor areas are finished with tiled areas and exposed concrete driveways. These form the structure for large boulders to flow around with advanced and small plantings teeing every element together.
We had a good open relationship with the client during the build regularly walking the site and ensuring their vision and expectations were meet. This resulted in some minor finishing changes along the way which we worked though and implemented while the project moved forward.
